The Choir is committed to outreach work and we try to work with different groups in the community each year.

Every year we do a Christmas "sing song" at Silkin Court Old People’s Home and Sheltered Accommodation, mixing the new carols that we learnt for our Christmas concert with many of the tried and trusted carols that everyone knows. We love this opportunity to sing with senior citizens and both residents and staff tell us they really look forward to this event.

In 2013, we took part in The Big Sing, a music workshop for local people of all ages and abilities organised by the Stevenage Arts Guild and Just Sing, a local singing group.

We often work with local primary schools, particularly in our performance of two of Alexander L’Estrange’s works, Zimbe and Ahoy: Sing for the Mary Rose. These involved children from schools in Wheathamstead and Hunsdon as well as several local Stevenage schools. We also involve schools in our Christmas concerts, singing the carols for Adult voices and children from Making Music’s publication Carols for Everyone.

In 2011, we held a Bring and Sing event and sang Handel’s Messiah in the Queen Mother Theatre in Hitchin.

In 2010, we did a "123Sing!" event in the Town Centre on the 2nd October to entertain the shoppers of Stevenage, to collect some money for the ClassicFM charity "Music Makers" and as an awareness for Stevenage residents of our presence.
